EU offers restart of Iran talks
In a letter to Iran the European Union offered to restart nuclear talks, after previous attempts failed to result in an agreement between Iran and the European Union. On 6 November Iran already indicated it wanted to restart talks with the Europeans.
“The letter was sent on behalf of Solana and of the foreign ministers of Britain, France and Germany — the so-called “EU 3″ — who previously had been involved in the talks. “Today at 1:30 p.m. in Tehran, the letter was delivered to the Iranians,” said the spokeswoman, Cristina Gallach, adding, “We’re responding in writing.” No date has been set yet for an exploratory meeting between the EU and Iran, she said.”
